Description
The VP15 verandah post is a classic turned timber column suited to traditional Australian homes, including Federation, Colonial and Queenslander styles. Its balanced proportions and detailed turning profile give a verandah or porch its period character and finish.
Crafted from LOSP (Light Organic Solvent Preservative) treated pine, prepared for outdoor use above ground. The treatment protects the timber against termites, decay and weather exposure when properly sealed and painted.

In stock: 90×90 and 115×115 in 2400mm / 2700mm / 3000mm. For posts longer than 3.0m, the bottom square block should be longer than the standard 400mm.

Before you order — how will this post be used?

Decorative, or replacing like-for-like. Replacing an existing post, or the load is carried by a separate structural member. Standard price, ships from stock.

Carrying load — a roof, beam, bench or balustrade fixing. We need a size and grade from your builder or engineer before we make it. Ask us and we will send you a profile drawing with the minimum turned diameter marked, so they have what they need. Use your own engineer, or we can introduce you to one who will work with you directly.
Our timber is preservative-treated (LOSP / H3) for exterior use above ground. It is not stress-graded, and turning removes the graded section — so for any load-bearing use the member size must be confirmed by your builder or engineer against the finished turned diameter. We manufacture to the specification you give us.
Prime all faces, including both cut ends, before installation. Not suitable for in-ground contact without a higher treatment level.
