Since 1980 we have been turning and machining architectural timber in our Bayswater workshop. If you cannot find the size, profile or timber you need on this site, we can make it.
Three ways we work
1 — Copy an existing piece
Send us what you have and we will match the profile. Verandah posts, balusters, table legs, finials — most heritage profiles we have made before.
2 — A product from our range, in your size
Any post, baluster, frieze, bracket, arch or gate in our catalogue can be made to a different height, width or timber. Open the product you want and use the quote form on its page.
3 — Something new
Working from a drawing, a photograph, or a heritage overlay requirement — send us whatever you have and we will tell you if we can make it.
Repairs and restorations
We also repair and restore existing timberwork. Send photos of the damage and we will tell you whether a repair or a replacement makes more sense.
Three ways to get it to us
- Bring it in. 2/60 Jersey Road, Bayswater VIC 3153. Drop the piece at the workshop and we will measure it ourselves.
- Post it to us. Same address — send the original and we will work from it.
- Photograph it. For most jobs, clear photos and a few measurements are all we need.
What to send us
- Photos from a few angles, with a tape measure in shot if you can
- Overall length or height
- Widest diameter, or the section size
- Timber preference, or ask us to advise
- Quantity, and where it is going
Lead time and quotes
Custom work runs about 3–4 weeks from an approved quote. Quotes are free, and there is no minimum order — one post or fifty.
Homeowners, builders, designers and heritage consultants all order from us. If you are not sure whether something is possible, ask — we would rather look at it than have you guess.
